From Amazon.ca: "Tessa Young is a landscape architect who specializes in the design and creation of labyrinths. For years she has immersed herself in the healing aspects of these elaborate structures, searching for God and hoping to make sense of the nightmares that have plagued her since childhood.
When Smith Chandler, a colleague who once betrayed her, offers an opportunity to reconstruct a remarkable Colonial-era labyrinth, she can't resist this project of a lifetime. But one evening, as dusk falls, an assailant ambushes Tessa and Smith and the real nightmare begins."
Heitzmann is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. Her style reminds me of Dee Henderson, with her complex characters and exciting plot twists. In the beginning, I was finding myself very impatient with the heroine, Tessa, but as the story continued and I realized the complexity of her personality, my impatience faded.
After reading so many books where the main characters are impossibly perfect, this book was a welcome relief. And I can tell you, I didn't see the end coming!
I'll be adding more of her books to my "to-be-read" list in the future.

I just started reading this book over the weekend and can tell I'm already going to like it. I've read every Heitzmann book and was anxiously waiting for this one to be released! She tells an intricate, captivating story.
Thanks for the review. I was just going to email and ask if you'd read it yet so I knew if it would be good...I got sucked into Twilight last week and read that whole series. lol. So, this book feels a little foreign now. ; )
I'm reading this book now and it's the first book by Kristin Heitzmann that I've ever read. So far, so good and after reading your review looks like the ending is going to surprise me. Thanks for your review. :)
