WFMW - Olive Oil (and I don't mean Popeye's gal)

I gotta tell you, I love me some olive oil. It tastes good, it's so good for you, and it makes a GREAT beauty aid.

Olive oil is a great moisturizer. Lightly slather some on after a bath or shower (night time is really best for this, and please don't put on your fancy nightie. Stick to your granny flannels, or yoga pants, or whatever you wear when hubby is away!) for silky, smooth skin. (You'll get used to the smell. Trust me!)

Have sensitive skin after waxing your brows? A little dab of oil massaged on the area will help keep the redness down.

My personal fave - you know when you're putting on your mascara and you sneeze, or some little person (or cat) bumps you and you end up smudging black/brown all over your freshly made-up face? Grab a q-tip (sorry, cotton swab. No free product endorsement here!), dip it into some oil, and wipe away. I actually almost like it when I smudge now, this works so well!

Of course, I don't actually keep an entire bottle of olive oil in my bathroom - I found a pretty little decorative glass bottle to store it in. You really don't need a lot.

See? I love it when I can mix my passion for eating with beauty. AND it's frugal!

Great tips! I never thought about using it for eye makeup. I like to use olive oil for hot oil treatments on my hair.

These are great ideas, Andrea. I'm always looking for ways to deal with dry skin. Have you ever tried the avocado peel school of moisturizing? You take the avocado skin (once you've removed the yummy avocado) and smoosh your hands around the inside of the peel. Your hands look green and scary for a minute, but then you rinse it off and . . . heavenly!
